How do I take off this bolt in my rear disk brake caliper?

Hi,

I have the rear disc brake conversion from a 98 Celica.

My question is that I can seem to only be able to take off the bolt in the lower part of the caliper as you can see here.

How do I take off the top? There is no bolt. Here is a picture of the back of the caliper. It is the bolt looking thing circled in pink. It is round so I don't think it is meant to be taken off by any tool. This is the first time I've seen a round bolt LOL.

Here again we see that the lower bolt is a bolt and it can be taken off by a 12MM wrench. The top is that round bolt I don't know how to take off!

Here is a closeup of that bolt!

Any ideas?

Did you ask the Celica guys yet?

That doesn't look like a bolt, which means you might have to take off the assembly from the bracket through the top bolts.

its a pin, you pivot the caliper up and the push it back. you may need to tap it off with a hammer, be sure to grease the slides.

let me clarify, the caliper has a pin in it which goes into that hole in the bracket, you push the caliper off the bracket.

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure I follow. You mean I just need to wiggle it around to get it out without any tools?

yes, you'll understand 100% when its off. just swing the caliper UP and wiggle/push/tap it towards the car. it will begin to slide off the pin that sticks out of the bracket. i think i had it backwards. let me see if i have a picture of one of my old calipers.

understand now? there's a pin off the bracket that goes into the caliper and is a hinge.
