Disable 1999 corolla ce alarm, HELP!

I have a 1999 corolla ce and I bought it used with a alarm in it already. The alarm remote brand shows "checkmate" and my question is how do I disable the alarm without using the remote to disable it? I want to disable the alarm with a key instead of the remote, how do I do that? Reason asking is because what if my remote runs out of battery or the remote doesn't work anymore the alarm would annoy me and everyone on the street. Because once the alarm is set off it wouldn't allow me to start the engine to shut it off or drive it. It just goes off into sirening. Or what if I'm in the middle of a rest stop and 50 miles away from the closest car shop and the remote stop working suddenly i need to use the key to disable the alarm and start the engine. Before I switched my lights to HID it was fine i could open the door and start engine without the alarm going off. After I switch the HID the alarm isn't working like it used to be. During the HID installation I disconnected the battery and reconnected, that could caused this problem. Or I also cut the wire for DRL but i doubt that has anything to do with the alarm. It's mostly the disconnect and reconnect of the battery that resetted the alarm...=(
