Canada electrical connection

hii readers.
I am trying to run a fresh connection from my ignition which would give me about 200w out put 12v. I would like to use this power supply to run a pair of heated seat covers bought from Canadian tire. Can any suggest how can I go abouts with this never opened my ignition therefore would like some help.

Im not an electrician, or know much about watts or volts, but with the the logistics, it would probably be easier to run directly from battery, into the firewall above the brake and gas pedals, and then under the drivers side door sill, to the bottom of seat.

excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean when you say "run a fresh connection from my ignition..."

are you looking for a +12 lead, that turns off when you turn off the car?

and when you say "never opened my ignition", do you mean cut into wires to find that +12 lead?

if so, there are already +12 leads in your car that will turn off with your car. If you're running heated seats that use 200W of power, you need find an existing wire in the car that is capable of supplying 17A of current (200W/12V=16.6A). 17A is not fuse size that's common, but 20A is. Check your fuse box to see if there are any unused connections with a 20A fuse, and tap into the fuse using this type of connector:

or

your alternative would be what crowbar already recommended: if you can't find a wire that will supply the 17A of current, you would need to a run a thick enough wire (with an inline fuse) between your battery directly to your heated seats. You can trigger it to turn off with the car using an automotive relay.

here is an example of the wiring for the relay:

I would go with a dedicated (and fused) run out to the battery as the high wattage source for the heaters.

Use a relay whose contacts switch the high wattage source, and have the relays coil trigger source from an ignition switched item like the 12volt outlet.

Canada Electrical connection

Thankz for all ur response guys.
I would like to run a new connection from the battery through the ignition (fused) 20A but i do require some help in how about am i going to do that i know i can run the cables directly from the battery but how willi go abouts in wiring it up with the ignition and running it through the fuse box. I do have empty slots availble in my fuse box to run additional circuits.
I was thinking i would run if through the back of my cig lighter connection but since there are 2 covers i dont want to blow the fuse or the wires as they are only compatible for 15A (14 gauge).
Does any one have an idea of how the ignition looks like from the inside will i be able to turn it on when i click my key to acc.
Thank You all for responding.

Take this and stick it into the S-HTR position in fuse block behind the coin drawer. Yes it is 15A but it's a ready position.
