rear speaker fit

my parents got me a set of Kenwood 5 way 6X9s for christmas and i was wondering, has anybody put 6X9s in their corolla, specifically in the rear? they're nice speakers and it'd be a shame if i had to get rid of them, partially because their nice speakers and because if i were to return them i'd probably be assessed a 15% restocking fee . they're too large to reuse the stock brackets and too deep to just drop into the old hole. my friend and i tried to cut a hole out but a Dremel with a diamond cutting wheel did very little besides make a lot of noise.
if anybody has any tips i'd appreciate it. when it comes to car audio im admittedly terrible.

When I got new speakers, I had thought about doing the same thing with using 6x9's in the rear, but ended up returning them to get the same set of 6 1/2 that I have in the front. I thought about frabricating boxes, but they would've ended up sitting on the rear deck and looking weird. Have looked at just mounting them under? That's one option. Not sure how easily it can be done, both in positioning and drilling mount holes.

didnt try that... that may be easier... then again the sound would be a bit off and mostly in the trunk as thats a solid piece of body steel that the speakers mount into.
