Idle Noise?

Recently my 99 CE began making an odd low rumbling when idling after startup. It is definitely NOT in the valvetrain, originally I thought it was lower engine noise due to low oil pressure, but the noise completely disappears in park, neutral, and anytime the gas is applied.

It seems to go away after 15-20 minutes of driving. Is there anyway this could be a worn motor mount? My 99 just crossed 91,000 miles, and I've never done anything but brake and fluid changes. Anyone have pics of the stock motor mount locations? Thanks!

Engine Mount #1:
Located front and center right underneath the radiator.
Engine Mount #2:
Located right next to the washer fluid reservoir on the right side of the car.
Engine Mount #3:
Located in the rear of the engine (center) right above the suspension crossmember. This mount is a pain to replace, need to drop the suspension.

Transmission Mount #4:
Located underneath the stock air box on the left side of the engine.

If you're concerned, take a crowbar and apply pressure to each engine mount and judge how worn out they are. You will have some free-play of course.

Also, you can do this with a buddy, with the foot on the break and the hood popped open shift the car through gears (N, D, R) and even apply some gas and see how much the engine shifts around. Mine were so bad that it would pull back the radiator by the hose when gas was applied.

Not sure if that's your problem, but the info is what it is.

You're saying that it's a small rumble/shake at idle? Maybe you need to adjust your idle speed up a little bit...describe the problem in a little more detail if you can...

could be a bad idle belt tensioner, run the engine without the belt for a couple minutes (no more than 5) and see if the noise still exists.
