Took my 99 corolla to the dealer today

So i took my car to the dealer today because my check engine light came on few weeks ago. You could smell the fuel coming out the back. The dealer said it faid the diagnostics because my front manifold 02 sensor is bad and they i had bad oil seals that were leaking i guessed caused it to go bad. They said that they would replace it for around 350 *just the 02 sensor* and 1700.00 to fix all the bad seals. What kind of bs is this? Should i simply just change the 02 sensor myself? I think 350 is rediculous. Will changing the sensor fix the problem of the fuel smell immediately? I did also buy a new catalytic converter but if i only need to replace the 02's should i just do that?

You plan to also replace the oil seals, right? Otherwise you'll face the same problem again and again and again, which would also be ridiculous.

Also, putting on a new catalytic converter without knowing that the original one has failed is ridiculous.

Well here's what the invoice from the toyota dealer said

Ran diagnostics found heated oxygen sensor does not pass tests and is covered with oil, needs o2 sensor, induction service and needs oil leaks repaired.
