White LEDs - Dashboard Mods

Hi Folks! I'm new in this forum
I've read tons of information here.
Now is my turn!
I changed lights in my 'rolla 2000. My model is a kind of different from the most of you 'cause I am from Brazil and here the S model is called SE-G and has some differences. Dashboard, Gauges for example...
Original colors of my 'rolla were green, however I bought a Sony Xplode CD player with bluetooth and it has not color changing option.. Lights are blue and LCD is white and do not mix with my dashboard. So, in my first attempt I decided to change my colors to blue. The first photo shows how it was. But I didn like at all... In my second attempt I changed to white and the rest of the photos show the final result... I liked so much. My job is not finished yet. I need to change the light from window's switch and lights from automatic Gear. I've took tons of photo but I am not able to post all of them. PS Also I installed a white Led inside that area you put CD box, etc.. (I dont know it's name in english ).

Thats pretty cool i'm thinking of doing the same thing rather than buying a new gauge set for my corolla. For the light you put into the CD box is that just in parallel with another light so it only turns on when you turn on the lights? I'm thinking of putting one there and one in my glove box.

Where did you get your white lights from? I have found a few LED packages with super bright white led's but i'm not sure if i should use LED or just remove the green caps that cover the bulbs. Also, do you think it would be tricky to change the dome light to an LED setup?

Hi Gary!
The LED inside the CD box is in parallel with dashboard lights, so when I turn the headlights on, all dashboard, including this LED turn to on. I thought of putting LEDs in glove box... maybe in the future.

I bought all LEDs in a electronic store near my house. LEDs is better than comun bulb light (if you remove caps) cause it has white light with more bright. In the begin I thought I would have a hard work to change the lights, but when you learn when is each screw and how the pieces fits it's be easy. The most hard light to change is the automatic shift, cause you need to disassembly a lot of things... but worth...

Hi riflydon!
I really dont know what is the model number, I just know these Leds have high bright 18.000 mcd. I think any white high bright model will work fine.
In my corolla to get access to A/C leds I needed to disassembly the most part of the dashboard. Start by
pulling out all the control's knob of the air system (they have no screw). Then remove the 2 air out conducts in the middle of the dashboard, so this way you will get access to triangle red light's part (I dont know it's name in english). Also remove this piece and disconnect the wire of this light. Then, by removing this part, you you will be able to pull all the middle console out thru this whole. This middle part of the console has no screw either. Finally you will see and get access in all lights in the dashboard. The A/C electronic module (switches, etc) is fixed in this part of the console. Disconnect the wires and pull it out by unlocking 4 or 5 parts. Open this module and you will access the original green led.
Good luck

Hi. Here in Brazil cluster with rpm is in any 99`s corolla stock model. I dont known if your corolla has a built in velocity sensor in order to be able to install a cluster with rpm. Try asking to someone else. If you car is prepared to rpm cluster, maybe you can buy it on internet.
