HVAC bulb removal

hey guys, i am new here and i have searched and found out what i need to do to change the bulb for the hvac. i bought the #74 bulbs like you guys suggested. my problem is that i did change the passenger side of the hvac no problems but when i went to change the driver side of the hvac, the bulb disconnected from the socket and is now stuck inside the hvac control panel. is there a easy way to remove the bulb? i have tried unloosen the hvac control panel itself but i didnt know how to remove the cables that are connected on the hvac that controls the heat and vents. any suggestions please. also, i tried going to buy another green bulb cover that goes over the 74 bulb but to no availability from any of the parts store. is the dealer the only place that has that cover in that size for that bulb? any input is greatly appreciated. i hope to get some feedback. thanks, cuong

Pull the knob off and shake the unit if you can't see the bulb once you can see it use some tweezers or something to grab it. As for the cover personally id just use leds but the only place you will be able to get the right thickness cover is the toyota dealer, the covers at autozone etc. are too thick not enough light comes through.

I did pull off the knob and there is not a way for me to located or see the bulb from the front side wiith the knob off. Is there enough room in the rear for me to use tweezers or something of that nature to remove the bulb? There is minimal room with everything except for the cables of the vents and heat still attached.

Could you please elaborate what you did. Used a flat blade and removed the bulb from the rear? I can't see where the bulb is since I dont know how to remove the two cables that are connected to the temperature control and the vent control. Please give me your input.

Oh, I see what you are saying. I was thinking of a different bulb. But, I have removed the cables on mine... They are held in with clips. You have to undo the clips, then pull the cable up and away from the back of the unit, and they should come out..... but I had my entire dashboard off when I did it LOL. Maybe you can feel around for the bulb to try and remove it with a flat blade. OR, perhaps you can take off the front of the housing... the part with the symbols on it. Mine is held on with clips around the edges. If you take this off, you can probably just push the bulb out the back from the front...
