Question How do I install a 99 Corolla radio in a 99 Prizm (pictures attached)?

99 Prizm (note how the vent controls are above the factory radio, which appears to be a double DIN slot):

99 Corolla (note how the vent controls are below the factory radio (which appears to be a single DIN slot):

Radio to be installed (front):

Radio to be installed (back):

I believe the solution involves one of these Metra kits (for physical spacing):

What I can't figure out is what to do with the wiring. How does my single plug Prizm wire harness fit into the two (circled in red) Corolla radio jacks?

It should be pretty easy. The single din unit should bolt right into the either the top or the bottom of the double din spot. Don't take my word for it though. As for the wiring, you'd be lucky if it matched. The best thing would probably be to cut all the wires and solder them to the right places... you're lucky if the wires are all the same colors and stuff, making the switch easy. I think that the wires are in deed the same.... I have swapped many parts between Corollas and the Prizm, and this was the case. Good luck.
