Vibrating Noise when the car accelerates

I have an Automatic 2000 Toyota Corolla with approximately 160,000 miles on. The car sat in the parking lot for about two weeks during Christmas break. When I came back, I started noticing a vibrating noise coming from somewhere under the hood. It has become more frequent now to where if I accelerate quickly, I hear the vibrating noise. This happens a lot while I am going up or down a hill. I do not hear any noise while the car is in Park, Reverse, or in any other gear. Can someone please help I have 0 knowledge on cars and I am a college student.

I just bought my 98 Prizm a few weeks ago. I actually had this same problem. Vibrating under the pedal which seemed worse going uphill or at a stop on a hill. My car was sitting on a lot for about 5 weeks. This sound has gone away after driving a good 600 miles. So..Im not sure if that helps but keep driving it see if it goes away.

the solution was getting an oil change because i was several quarts low. if your car was rattling like mine was upon acceleration, then that may be the cause. good luck.
