break pad

i notice that my brake pad that is holding my brake is kind of loose...i mean if u wiggle it with ur strength a little it would kinda wiggle a little up down left right and i tried to tighten the 2 bolt onto the brake pad but it wouldnt go any further ...any idea...?

its not tight on like my bros civc....and i was thinking maybe the bolt was too long but the bolt seems to be perfect length.thnx

What are you referring to as the "brake pad"? As in the actual brake pads? What you're describing is the calipers.

1. Look at how much of the brake pads are left and if it's very little then you'll need to change them.

2. Take pics so we can take a look at it, words alone are difficult to figure out from how you're describing it.

3. You probably just need to change your brake pads because they're worn out.

probably worn out slides or worn out slide holes. try replacing the caliper and bracket with a rebuilt one.

if you grab the pads with some force then yeah they should wiggle. if you are grabbing the caliper and slidding it towards you and away from you then yeah that means the slides are working. On my corolla (99') they are loose and they squeeled so i used some anti-sieze compound and everything is fine. i don't think it's anything you should worry about unless they are very loose
