i have a 02 s, ive been looking into fiddling with the headlights a bit, i recently baked and painted the stock headlights. but in my searches i was disappointed to find that the 03 version has a very pretty projector headlight.
im curious if there is anyway this would possibly match up or with slight modifications would fit into the 02 body.
im assuming it wont, but i think it would be very interesting to look into.
hmm seems like too much work to me just for the headlight. i was just looking to hammer away at some metal and drill some holes haha oh well thanks anyway
if you do find a way, ill buy your stock headlights and markers off you, i NEED a pair badly!, if you know someone that has a used pair let me know please.
you'd need to do a frontend conversion, hood, bumper cover, fenders, grill, some other parts probably too. its been talked about before.
Front end conversion to 03? Is that gonna fly?
He probably need this, hehe

thats the same front end i have but the corner lights are part of the headlight, i dont think the wrap around would fit into the 02s body. it prolly would need the front end conversion

no its not the same. you over looking the fact Buurin did a projector retrofit into his headlights. that is what hes referring to. he is saying if you want projectors, then retrofit them into your headlights.
I have a question about baking the lights. At what temperature and for how long should I keep my headlights in the oven for proper removal. Please shed some light.
I tried doing this myself (2001 corolla) and this is what I did:
I tried the corner signals just to start off. I set the oven to 200F and placed them in there for 7.5 minutes. I took them out and tried prying them off with my hands (was wearing gloves) and didn't budge at all!!!! I set them back in the oven for another 7 minutes at 220F and pulled them out. I tried twisting and pulling the lens cover off and used my kitchen counter for support. Still wouldn't budge!!!! I set the corner signal on the counter and noticed that it warped!!!! I don't know if it warped in the oven or from using the counter as a support that caved it in. Knowing this, I dare not try and bake my headlights. If the same thing were to happen, my care becomes a day-only vehicle. Lol.
Do the lenses have a cooler melting temperature than ABS plastic? Does anybody know why my corner signal warped under, what I believe to be, cool baking temperatures?
i noticed the same problem as it was my first time as well, but the corner lights are actually glued together. i heated them a bit then very carefully worked my way around every side with a flathead screwdriver and it eventually popped off. i resealed it with one of those mix apoxies. the headlight itself it held together by a different material. when it is sitting normal it seems like glue hard as a rock but when you heat it it softens up and you can pry it apart. i cant remember the temperature perfectly, i believe i did 170 degrees for about 8-10 minutes i kept taking it out too early cause i was really cautious about melting it. if you just search google for guides or forums on how to bake headlights its rather easy to find
I have found that 225 degrees for 30 minutes is fine.... use a lower heat and a long time, so that the heat can penetrate through the glue, making it easy to remove.
I'm not sure if this was already covered only skimmed through but the corner lenses are plastic therefore will warp(made the same mistake) The headlights however are glas and will not warp just don't burn them lol

the headlights arent glass. they are just a harder plastic than the corner lights
well i figured they weren't glass lol that would be bad just trying to get the point across you can only burn the inside of the headlights not warp them. I just didnt know anyother way to describe them.
ohh alright. well when baking the lights they dont have to be to the point you will get 3rd degree burns just by touching them. i put them on a cloth over a cookie sheet to the point they were hot enough that you could still use your hands around the outside edges to hold it, only the middle parts should be hot enough to burn you
