Changing tail bulbs to LEDs

I have carbon fiber altezza's on my '00 that I really like. I was considering swapping the standard bulbs out for LED bulbs. I swapped out the 194 bulbs with super white LEDs and didn't like the look, it's almost a pink light now, instead of red. So I was considering purchasing red 194's and 3157's for the tail light (parking light and brake light, not turn signals.) Has anyone done this? Will my lights look any brighter? Redder? Will my brake lights turn on quicker and more responsive when I hit the brakes? Just wondering if I'm throwing away money, doing this.

yeah man, you must put red LEDs behind a red lens.... orange behind orange etc. You will have the brighter on time, less power/heat, deep red, even redder than regular bulbs. But, I have not found any bulbs bright enough. The closest thing is ELEF bulbs, but they are $35 each lol.
