99 CE Door Latch Broke

Okay never done this one.

I go out to my frozen car this morning and my door is frozen shut. I try getting the door open and it pops kinds loud and comes open. But then the damn thing won't stay shut. So, now I'm guessing I've got a broken door latch.

Can anyone help me? Does anybody know if the latches from older gens will fit? Or where I can get a replacement? Haven't found any latch assemblies online yet.
I have a 95 parts car, but they're different body styles. But the blower motor was the same. . .

Any help is welcome. Thanks.

I've had this problem with my vehicle during cold wet winters. When my car warms up (interior wise) my door will close but initially will not close after being open. Has to do with the water getting into the locking mechanism. IF you really broke your door latch then I would check out Rockauto.com or toyota parts webpages to see what the prices are for the latch.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. I got home that evening and the door worked fine.
I was suspicious when I got to work and I couldn't get the key in the front gate lock to turn. I had to blow on it for a few minutes then it opened. I thought "hmmm. . . . "

Thanks for the reply.

Good to know I'm not the only one that this happens to. It is probably the weather stripping.
