exhaust gaskets

How many exhaust gaskets does the 99 corolla have? I believe i have an exhaust leak, how many from the exhaust manifold down?

i think just two, a donut at the manifold to catback and maybe one at the muffler to the middle pipe.

I think the manifold connects to the downpipe then the cat/midpipe to the other piece then muffler. So 4 pieces if im not mistaken.

From my experience its usually part number 17410B the donut gasket thats the culprit. It costs about $10 at Advanced Auto and made a world of difference in how my car sounds.

Easy, I just did mine. I believe the clamp bolt is 14mm, then you can pull the catback towards the rear of the car to clear the pipe, then pull the donut off.

I forgot to mention a year or two ago i backed into a curb causing my my muffler to fall off. I've driven it since then but here's what it looks like now and i seem to have the exhaust smells. I dunno if this would cause it.

Yeah, definitely have an exhaust leak between the muffler and the rest of the exhaust system. Could be completely closed up with carbon now - but still could be a source of the exahust odor you are experiencing.
