Just installed cd player: JVC KD-S36 w/ front USB
I'll put some pics up tomorrow. I put the deck in my '99 Prizm. I thought I remembered a few hang-ups from doing the install in my last one. Super easy except when you swap the cupholder from the factory radio to the new install kit (mine was from Metra) the top part of the cupholder assembly curves down because of the pressure coming from the sides of the kit. This prevents the cupholder from sliding in/out. Last time I did a complicated process involving the Dremel tool and epoxy. This time, I had an idea that was almost too simple: I used Super Glue to secure the top part of the cupholder assembly to the lower part of the install kit. I really wish I would have taken pictures to explain this better, but I was too excited to stick the whole think in my car! Sounds better already, but now I need to replace the 6.5" speakers in the doors, and I want to run 6x9's in the back shelf. Anyone had experience doing the 6x9's back there? I have never run an amp to speakers before, just subs, but I heard that if you connect good speakers to an amp, they sound better. Anyone know about this??
Damn, I really need to change my signature picture. I miss my truck every time I post!
