Auto Trans drain and refill

I have a 2000 with the 4 speed auto, if I was to do a basic drain and refill of the trans fluid how much approx. would come out if I drained with the car on ramps?
Also the drain plug size??

Thinking of doing it myself the next time and doing it frequently to slowly replenish all the fliud.

Thanks.

Anywhere from 3 to 3.5 qt (US) will come out, but you should check your level beforehand. Don't assume you should add exactly the amount that came out. Add up to the cold line, drive around to get hot, then check and add as necessary.

The drain plug is a 10 mm hex head, if that is what you are asking about the size. May need a hex key or special bit for your ratchet--don't know what tools you've got.
