Tourque specs on Spark Plugs 99

Hello All,

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered before but I searched and could not find the answer. I am replacing the spark plugs on my 99 Corolla and need some help finding the correct tourque specs for tightening. If anyone has an FSM and could look it up and let me know, that would be great, thanks!

Correct electrode gap:
1.1 mm (0.043 in.)
(f) Using a 16 mm plug wrench, install the spark plug.
Torque: 18 N·m (184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf)
(g) Connect the high−tension cords to the spark plugs.

i bought a used corolla 99, but don't have the owner's manual.. please , somebogy, where can i get it.. for free please? thanks!

my old spark plugs' gap are all +0.05, are they still ok? their heads are some are black, some are "white".

they are made by NGK BKR6EGP. but the salesman at an auto parts told me to buy BKR5EGP! i'm totally lost now! please help, because this is my 1st car! thanks for reading!

I'm hoping you ment a +0.05mm gap? That would be equivalent to a 0.045" gap - nothing to worry about. As plug wear, the gap will open up slightly. Sounds like the plugs need to be changed out.

The NGK BKR6EGP are one step "colder" than the NGK BKR5EGP plugs. The ones that supposed to go in the car are the BKR5EGP. The varying coloration of the plgus are probably due to the mismatched heat range. In some cases, you want to run a colder plug - constant high speed driving, running forced induction, power adders, etc. - for a stock application, stick with the stock heat range plug. Running a plug that is too "cool" for conditions will result in poor sparkplug self cleaning, i.e., the spark plug will have a tendancy to become easily fouled.

As for the owners manual - might be able to download pieces of it online. Best bet is to check eBay or similar. Not sure what the deal with these owner's manual are - even when I bought my Corolla new - it was missing the manual. Dealership ordered one for me, got in the following week - no charge. If I wanted to buy another one - would have run about $18 for the owner's manual.
