Unhappy Engine stalls, then shuts down with window defroster on! HELP

Hellooo there. I need some help. I just got a 2001 corolla LE a week ago. Three (3) days ago I changed the air filter, had a engine flush done, replaced engine oil, transmission oil didn't need change.(will change spark plugs and wire next week). Everything great! until today when I went to get the car NYS inspection sticker. The car passed with no problems. But now when I turn on the window defroster, the car RPM goes up to 2.5 or so and then down and up a couple of times and then engine turns off. I can get the regular heater on and it works with no issue. What could be causing this issue? Thank you in advance.

The rear window defroster (electric grid)? Check the alternator.

The front window defroster (fan-forced air)? Check the A/C compressor. (I expect that turning the A/C on will result in the same problem. On the '01 LE (like most newer cars), the A/C comes on when you run the heater in the defrost position.)
