Hey guys, Im wondering if anyone has done tail light tinting to their corolla...
Im in the mids of practicing applying it on an old set of lights, but Id really like to be teased by the final look of the car when tinted...
My car is black, so if you ahve a Black car with tinted tail lights that would be sick, but any colour would do
oh well nightshade works too. nice thing about vinyl is you can just peel it off tho. but whats the name of that back window visor thingy? i was curious how that would look on a red sport thats blacked out
I used Nite Shades on mine.... I went too dark though. It does get a little darker as it dries. But it is super easy to use! I definitely recommend it.
I figured he was asking for any pics of Corollas with tinted tail lights, and I wanted to put in my 2 cents about Nite Shades!! I guess mine isn't black, but he said any color would do
This is going to sound ridiculous but bear with me - You can actually use stockings over your taillights and it looks legit. The benefit of doing this is that if you ever get pulled over by a cop, you can simply just pull it off. A couple of mates of mine did it to their cars a few years ago and it looked great, there is no way you could tell it was a stocking unless you went right up to the car and touched it. The most embarrassing part is the actual purchase of the stockings .
EDIT: Just found some old photos of one of my old cars that we tried the stockings on:

STOCKINGS?????!!! wow haha. It looks alright in the pic... IDK about stockings + water.... or washing the car for that matter. Wouldn't dirt get in there and scratch the lights? Is it hard to get even, like when you stretch it over the light, it makes an even tint?

Yeah the water is a bit of a pain in the ass, especially if it's wet and you go driving through a saw-dust yard . But generally it didn't cause many problems. Yep, it was very even as you have to take the tail light out and put it right inside the stocking. Depending on the transparency you're after, you can stretch it right out, but usually we used to stretch it just enough so that there were no wrinkles. That way you can't see any of the strands in the stocking, lol.

Yea its a 2001 corolla, and the stuff that im looking into ordering is a Vinyl, its Orical 8300
Its suppose to be super sick stuff, ive been practicing applying some test strips the company sent me to my old lights, and they dont turn out that bad, but its just that its so maluable that it can stretch easily, and you really have to work it to get it smooth.
Any tips where to start on the light and whatnot?
That orical stuff comes in 30 colours too btw, Im getting yellow aswell for the front fogs

rear window visor. no fancy names. i got mine off ebay for 55 or so. i like it. i just got the ones for the doors a few weeks ago but have been lazy to put them on. mostly because of the cold and the snow.
So does anybody have a DIY set of pictures for how to take apart the tail lights and black them out? I have a white corolla and i'm painting my interior black with blue accents and i have limo tint on the back three windows. If i were to do this would i need to use NightShade or could i just use thin layers of spray paint? Also how illegal is this?
