Bucking feeling on de-acceleration.

So, i have noticed since i had my car. Anything over say 50 mph if im driving and i let off the gas quick its like the car grabs hard and kind of hops a bit to slow down. But if i let off nice and slow usually it will not happen. It does not happen with anything under 50 mph either. Is this a three speed problem or something?

All the fluids were just changed, new air filter, plugs, etc.

Its a 1998 Chevy Prizm 3 spd automatic.

I'm not sure what the problem is but usually this happens because when you are going at highway speeds the fuel injectors are spraying quite frequently. Then when you all of a sudden let the throttle close you limit the amount of air and the injectors take a second to return to an idle spraying frequency. I don't know what would cause this or maybe it is something else, but that does sound like the problem. Now, the problem with just asking on here is that it could be anything from a leaking injector to just being the way the car operates. Try to recreate any other conditions it happens in and try driving a friends car to see if you can make something like that happen because it could just be normal. It could be something brake related like the pads heat up and expand so they grab easier i dno lol just throwing ideas out there. Most likely something related to your fuel management but don't blindly do anything we say lol. Good Luck with that and if you have any more symptoms please post them ill try and be a bit more help (on a side note, my mom's 2003 camry does this and i think it has to do with the way the transmission works, nothing wrong, just the way it works when i'm rapidly snapping the throttle)

lol i dont beat on them. It has the Drive By Wire throttle so it doesn't have a throttle cable and you can feel the delay when you snap the throttle. It takes about a second or a little less for it to register what i have done lol its weird. And when i'm doing this as i accelerate or let it go closed instantly, i will feel the automatic transmission engage or dissengage and its really rough

ohhh rough. yeah i noticed the mini is like that too, its connected through the traction control so if you floor it in the rain the pedal can be to the floor and it wont accelerate

Thanks alot man, i appreciate it. I think i will take another corolla around my year for a test drive today to see if it does the same. I think if i had a leaking injector or bad fuel system i would be getting horrible gas mileage wouldnt i? Im consistently getting 300-340 miles per tank. Never less than that. It may just be the car, because otherwise it shifts beautifully. Now i have to figure out why my steering feels mushy...Sigh My little prizm going bad.
