Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you start from the wheel furthest from the brake master.

That would be correct.
Right rear, then left rear.
Right front, then left front.

this is what i thought and heard of, and it makes perfect sense...

but, i've got a Haynes Repair Manual for 1993 - 2002 Toyota Corolla and Geo Prizm... and it states that the order is: right rear, left front, left rear, right front

that seems odd and i'm suspecting that it's a typo, but still want to confirm and maybe have someone clarified it.

While you're under there, buy an extra quart of Valvoline Synthetic brake fluid(or whatever brand you use) and flush out the lines if you haven't done so in a couple of years(or EVER for that matter). Have your "pedal pumper" just keep pumping and refilling the reservoir(before it goes dry and adds more air in the system!!) until the right rear bleed hose(clear plastic preferably) is shooting totally clear fluid to the catch bottle(also preferably a clear bottle). Then do the other three the same way in order going closer to the front. The other three lines won't take near the pumping that the right rear does. Brake fluid is "hydroscopic" meaning that it absorbs moisture and over time that's not good for the innards of your brake lines and caliper/wheel cylinder seals.

Remember, a clean reservoir is a happy reservoir.....
