Tranny overfilled what to do?

A mechanic accidentally overfilled my trany in a 98 rolla by about 1 inch over hot when hot, how urgent is it? And whats easier the drain plug or the transmission cooler line? Pics of both would be nice because I would rather do it myself. In an older rolla I had the drain was on the bottom of the pan right in front with a big...about 10-14mm bolt.

Thanks

Thanks, I'll start my quest to find the right diameter tubing tomorrow to just get it done. But I also wanted to do a drain and fill. Nothing going on wrong though.

On a lighter note, my valve cover gasket oil leak was bigger than I knew, bottom dry now and buying oil isn't burning a hole in my pocket.

If he used the drain plug he would have to stop mid way somehow. Unless he told the mechanic that he got it done at to drain and refill with new fluid.

Pretty easy to screw in a drain plug while the fluid is still draining. At least to me.

Acording to the manuel only 2.7~ quarts will fall out, so I'm going to just open it up and let it fall. I hope my tranny doesn't get used to a steady diet of new fluid though!

You can drain it from the plug, but it could get messy. Just holding the plug without removing it will drain part of the fluid (probably run down your arm while your at it).

Sucking it out the fill tube is the least headache - especially if you have a vacuum tool, like a Mighty Vac or similar. That way you can remove the exact amount of overfill, with no chance to mess up or top off.
