oil pan damage

hey guys,

recently, my 2001 corolla drove over a rock and im guessing it damaged the oil pan. i heard a few noises but let it go, but then later the low oil pressure indicator came on. i stopped the car and had it towed to my house. now, im wondering if the light came on because of damage to the oil pan or damage to the engine. i know i'm gonna have to take it to a mechanic now but i also want to know how much im looking at spending. any help is appreciated.

thanks

Oil Pan - $65
Gasket - $7
Oil Change - $20
Taxes/Shipping - $30
I've done the oil pan before, took me 1 hour, so I would say 1 hour labor @ $75.
-------------
About $200

That's my personal experience.

Hmmm...I would've thought it would be a bigger job than that. Maybe I'll think about dropping the oil pan and swapping out pistons and rings in my oil burner...I doubt I could make it worse.

depends on your mileage for switching the pistons and rings. if you over 150000 its possible putting brand new rings could actually make your car run improperly because the cylinders have worn to fit the old pistons. in order for that you would have to have your cylinders machined first
