Steering is completely screwed...help?

I have a problem with my steering after an accident and i was wondering if anybody could help me out here. I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla.

So I was driving to school just like any other day except for that it was raining, which screws up my tires because i still have my winter tires on. i was entering a traffic circle on the outer lane and was just about to exit when my car starts sliding towards the inner lane when i exited... obviously my left driver side rim hit the curb and did a load of damage. I stepped out of my car and the wheel and tire were pushed completely towards the back and was touching the wheel well. Luckly there was a shop right beside where it hit and i just took it there. Turns out my lower control arm was twisted and bent, broken tie rods, twisted swaybar, broken strut, and broken rack and pinion. Car was fixed within 3 days with used parts from a 2001 corolla. Total came to about $1736.00 and labour was about $450.00 (wondering if this was a good price or not). ANYHOW... The steering now feels nothing like it was before, its very loose and you can feel a vibration from the left driver side when driving. When you accelerate you can hear a noise as if something is lightly rubbing against something else. Any ideas on what i can do? i wanna have my tighter steering like before...

Take it back to the shop, and tell them you are unhappy with the cars steering.

Take them for a ride along and show them exactly what is vibrating and what is wrong.

Have them find the problem, and give you an exact list of what is wrong before they fix the problem.

x2 also if your ever in a situation like this again, dont have them fix the car with used parts. the used parts could be bad. steering racks do wear over time, as do control arms, ball joints, tie rods and struts. they should all be replaced with new units when your involved in an accident.

You didn't go through your insurance?

Mistake number one.

You should have specified new parts and not leave things open for them to interpret. It must a shoddy garage that did the work.
