When you buy the hid's on this website...you just click on the "hid and lighting kit" right? and then click again on the picture with hid and then it'll tell you to select wich bulb type which will be 9006 right? but then how do you know that it will fit a 2001 corolla when it doesn't state what car it is for and the website seems to be for bmw's?

Help out a littlw here about ordering the hid on ddmtuning.

thanks

They just sell the bulbs and ballast kits - so basically you are just replacing the OEM halogen bulb for an HID one. Light output will appear brighter, but since they are designed for projectors - you are only going to get a fraction of the available light out of the assembly. No modding of the lamp assembly, just plug and play + wiring for the ballast.

Personally, I'd advise against such kits. Since there is no projector, you tend to get stray light shot everywhere. Too easy to blind oncoming driver's with this sort of kit - when you could spend a little more time and money to do it right. There are a couple of good DIY on this board for retrofitting projectors.

These kits are more attractive, price point-wise, but can't always go by price. Double check with local laws before you install these lamps. Some places will not let you run any aftermarket lighting - the "fix-it" ticket will likely cost much more than the kit.

9006 is the bulb used for the low beams in the 2001-2002 corolla.

You can't put HID's on your car, you do not have a projector housing so the lighting will be wrong and you will blind anyone in an incoming car.

That site sells mostly BMW because their cars come with projector housings.

Ballast takes 9005/9006 plugs (not keyed), capsule = 9006. I'll keep it at that.

And now, the obligatory pic of what you should do:

I know about the retrofitting part too...thanks for the info about it though.

The pic is nice...try one with the light on at night or so...

So any ballast with the bulb 9006/9005 will fit into the plugs of the corolla headlight wires and the housing correct...?

Very sorry if i am not getting it.
