Fuel door broke, how to remove the latch?

I bought a 99 corolla ve and the fuel door is broke.

How do I remove the latch that is holding the door.

I was planning to go to the junkyard to find a replacement.

But first i need to know how to remove this
There are two little round thing that is holding it.
These are not screw or bolt. they look like rivet but i dont understand why would they use rivet?
