my bet would be for a nitrous oxide kit. it looks to be a toggle switch and a momentary switch. which push buttons are nice, but having a kit to come on and spray from 4500- 6000 at WOT is better. that just happens to be how mine is setup. but ive never sprayed the corolla. never had to. and now im thinking of selling the kit, or putting it on the miata.

Nice try guys. Funny that all you guys can think of was nitrous.

The toggle disengages the alternator. It has three positions: engage, full disengage, and a 3rd position for engaging only when braking. I have yet to wire in the circuit for the third position. The big red switch cuts all fuel injectors and is known as a "FAS switch". Both are used for extreme hypermiling.

how the bear holding a shark do you disengage your alternator? AC compressor clutch? i know you can do similar things with Supercharger pulleys but usually that takes some electronic and mechanical wizardry, or just a wizard.

Probably deënergizes the field coils.

On my automatic-equipped Previa, I'd probably wire it in the Neutral Safety Switch. This way, when in Park or Neutral, the alternator will be engaged. This would be perfect for conditions where I'd be stopped for a while at a light, but don't want to shut the engine off. I usually put the thing in Neutral so that the engine load is reduced (idle goes up a little, but the load drops substantially).

more precision about wiring , cutting fuel system by a switch must not be that complicated . but alternator ?

Can you explain how you wire that ?

Knowin buurin I would have thought one switch engaged the flux capacitor and the other probably turned off the HID's

Insert a switch on the red/blue IG signal to the alternator. The most complicated part haven't been completed yet - automatically connect the signal when I step on the brakes.

I'd install a keypad for the first (if I remember the flick correctly), and I use my regular headlight switch for HID.

I went to C7 Spring Tour with this and got 5.9L/100km.

I can already hear my hybrid-esque deceleration whirring.

You could get really creative and put in a voltmeter and have it override the switch when the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold (so you don't accidentally run the battery too far down).

Actually I thought about putting in a bar graph or 7-digit for battery voltage. I should still remember how to rig up a 324 or 741 for this.

Well actually a Scangauge or my DashDyno can also show battery voltage but putting it on the same screen as fuel economy numbers is not the easiest thing to do.

But making it fully automatic would make it more of a failsafe so that user intervention wasn't required.

The SG-II is a little lacking in that it has only the four concurrent fields displayed. You can daisy-chain them (but that gets expensive!).

I use mine predominately in the Previa, and now have the LOD, MPG, TPS, and "AVG" (current trip average MPG, an X-Gauge I set up). Would be nice if it had six instead of four fields at a time (in two columns of three).
