USA 2002 Corolla - laptop mount - advice please?

We recently got a 2002 Corolla as a company car ( home business ) and want to have a laptop mount in it. Never did this before. Jennifer rides shotgun with me when we go out on service runs. She's handicapped with a pain syndrome in her legs. We want a mount that comes up between us in the middle, without pushing against her legs, and turns so we can both see and/or use it. We'd also like the laptop to go in and out easily and quickly so we don't expose it to thermal extremes in the car, or theft.

RAM offers a UNPKD RAM POD III W/ DBL BALL MNT for this car,

which is a universal mount - they say they dont have anything vehicle-specific for the '02. But I'm not sure if that tray is quick and easy to get the LT in and out of.

Someone also suggested the Bracketron - Universal Vehicle Laptop Mount
but I dont know anything about that one, or if it's a good one.

Has anyone here had any experience and have any suggestions for this sort of thing, please?

- Melissa

Melissa:

This is what I did. I cut two pieces of plywood one 18 inches by 12 and the other 12 x 12 inches. I got a 1 x 1 x 12 inch piece. I made a L shaped "table" with the pieces butting on to the 1 x 1. Hard to explain. Then I sanded all rough edges and painted. Cost ?... You probably get scraps at the big Box Store for nothing.

You slide the 18 inch piece between the seat and the middle arm rest. You have a table of sorts You can use on either side. Laptop of clip board stays on with either strap or large bands. Again hard to explain.

Yes, it says it requires drilling in the product description. If you want stable secure platform, you'll have to drill and mount it somewhere.
