2000 Corolla seat upgrade ?

I just love my new to me 2000 Corolla. First Toyota car I've owned and I won't go back to North American built again. My one complaint is the front seat comfort. I've owned quite a few vehicles and this has to be the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat in. It's great for short hops around the city but for a road trip of over an hour my back gets sore and my bum gets numb. The car is a "plain-jane" 4 door so I'm wondering if I can upgrade the front seats? I'd like to know if I can find seats from another year or model that would fit into the same bolt holes. I use this vehicle to commute (2 hours) for work and the seat comfort is becomming an issue. Something with more lumbar support and maybe arms rests would be nice.

Any help would be appreciated.

you may be able to take the covering off the seat and add foam to make it more to your liking. I had the same 'numb ass' issue in my 93 Geo.

I'm also new to Toyotas (love my 00 LE). IMO the seats are actually very comfortable.

They don't have airbags built into the seat, so you have LOTS of options. Go to a local racing shop that sells seats and test sit in a bunch to see what you like. Personally I've run Sparco Torinos in my cars for the last 6 years and love them. Great seat for a daily driver / weekend track car. With any seat upgrade, you'll need a seat base, possibly a slider/adjuster, and a new seat.

stock 7th gen celica seats will swap over with a little modding, and are more comfortable IMO. to make them swap you need to swap the bolt down tabs off the corolla sliders on to the celica sliders. just grind the little rivet holding them on to either seat off, swap the tabs, and weld them back on. not to mention they look much nicer

Is there another way to achieve the swap without welding? I don't really know how.

Don't laugh... the 99 cent store has these mesh wire and screen like material lumbar support cushions. They are great. Provides support and ventilation. Super comfortable....

Nope.

Find someone who does to help you out or you can always borrow one and learn.
