HIDs twitching

hi i ordered some hids like couple months ago and it has been twitching to present.no clue why.was thinking it is the bulb itself or the ballast or just not enough energy provided.
I did check for loose plugs and wiggly ones but they are all secure tightly.

any clues for me?
thanks

More info would help like what kind/brand kit you bought.

Bad ground point?

twitching HID, hm assume you mean strobing HID?

If so: connect the HID ballast directly to your battery, use a relay to switch the lights on/off. If still strobing, you can try so use a capacitor cable (or DIY: solder an 4700 35V caps before eacht HID balast).

Check your grounds like mentioned, bad ground can also cause strange problems.

ps - Try the following: run the car with lights on. verify the strobing. Trun off the car, leave the ignition in the on posistion. Lights still strobing? Turn off the ignition, remove the key. Lights still strobing?

In my case: engine running or ign. to on: strobing. Turn car off: no strobing. Solved it by connecting the ballasts directly to the battery, and adding 2 caps.

is it during the day? did you disable your DRL's? because if it during the day and you didnt disable the DRL's then there is the problem.

Does it twitch when you hit the gas?

My normal lights dim a little when im at idle. When I hit the gas they light up a little more.

Maybe they are not getting enough power when at idle?

Nope nothing like yours Crowbar. it just twitches while and during driving and idling....i dont think it twitches when it's cold. I thought maybe it was the light bulb itself?

Explain clearly or give a diagram as to how you hooked it all up.

So you have the stock 9006 connectors go into the ballast, then wires come out of the ballast and go into the bulb in the headlight?

Maybe a problem with the ballast itself if its always been a problem?

If it is flickering it might be a bad ballast. I've had this happen to me too. After the flicking then it would shut off and i would have to turn on and off my lights in order to get them back on.
