2002 Toyota Corrola intermittent starting problem

I have 2002 Toyota Corrola. Lately sometimes it will only click when the ignition key is turned to strat the car but it won't turn over. This does not happen all the time, only when the car sometimes sits overnight. I checked the battery, it is good. I turned the headlights on, when the car was just click and the lights don't go dim either. Seems like starter was not drawing any current from the battery. If I keep trying then sometimes after a dozen time it will start. Can it be Starter Relay Or what else can causing this ?
Thanks in advance.

sounds like bad starter solenoid contacts, common problem. you can rebuild yourself or replace the whole starter.

I'm having the same problem with my 98 Corolla -- in particular, the problem almost only occurs when I start the car in the morning after not using it for almost a day. Did you try rebuilding the solenoid? Did that fix the problem? Why would bad starter solenoid contacts only cause a problem when the car hasn't been running for several hours?

thanks

I would definitely check battery cables for corrosion at terminals.

Yes, by changing the solenoid contact points and cleaning the plunger fixed the intermittent starting problem on my 2002 Toyota Corrola. Parts from Toyota cost $17.00.
Thanks and good luck.
