The 9th gen you showed us isn't USDM. Looks like an E12 from Australia whereas ours are E13. Anyway, 8th and 9th gen fenders don't interchange, nor do the headlights.

In the first image, does anyone have any ideas as to how those headlights have been modded? Obviously the inside sections are painted out, but the actual lens looks like it has been tinted - am I imagining?
the front of the car is in the shade. I've got the same headlights and they have that dark tinted look to them just like the ones in the pic you are referring to because parts of the housing are painted black. Its possible that the owner smoked them a bit. But I think thats the stupidest thing you can do because then you are cutting down on your light output.
