Exhaust tip

Was wondering what size exhaust tip actually fits on a 2001 corolla s stock muffler exhaust pipe. The reason iam asking is that i have notice that the pipe where the exhaust tip goes on is not straight, and most aftermarket exhaust tips are straight. Also, wondering if anyone have experience on resonator exhaust tips. Will it change the exhaust note in anyway ? or is it just a gimmick ?

Don't just change the exhaust tip, the only thing it will do for you is look different. Buy yourself a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler and have an exhaust shop weld it on. My flowmaster costed me 120 bucks (with a tip and installed)

Thought about changing the muffler to an magnaflow one, but as good as the tone will sound, don't think i would be able to stand it on the highway with constent growling of the muffler. Therefore, i would just like to put a exhaust tip on, to make the car look better and maybe an exhaust tip with resonator to make the tone a little lower if those tips actually change the sound a little or might be just a myth. Wanted the exhuast tip look because all the cars i had, have gotten exhaust tips that came with it and think that cars with it looks a little nicer and more mordern.

The exhaust tip will not do much for a sound difference...the stock muffler on the corolla is very quiet, so there is not much noise to resonate. Honestly, at highway speeds with a flowmaster muffler you don't hear too much exhaust noise with the stock resonator especially if you have music on.
