USA 2000 Corolla 100K Tune-Up

I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla (CE I think) with almost 100k on it. I bought it about 10 months ago for $3500. It is my first car and I have no experience with cars AT ALL! When I got it, it wasn’t in a bad shape (I guess ). So far I changed:
  • Oil => 94k and 97k
  • Air filter => 94k
  • Some kind of belt (I don’t know what it was, but it cost $30 plus labor!!!) => 97k
  • Tires => 99k
  • Headlight and battery holder (or something like that, it was for the state inspection) => 99k
I hope I can have this car for another 4-5 years and avoid expensive maintenance fees, so I think I have to take it somewhere for the 100k tune-up. Also, money is tight, so I don’t want to take it to a dealer.

What should I do? Should I do a tune-up? Where should I take it? Most importantly, how much is it gonna cost me (approximately)?

Again, please bear in mind that I don’t know anything about cars, sorry

I’d appreciate any help…

I have a 2000 too with 125,000 miles on it. It would be a good idea to have the spark plugs changed and maybe a fuel injection service done on it. Also check the condition of the transmission fliud and if it is dirty have it changed and also have the coolant changed. If it has been properly maintained it should last you another 5 to 6 or more years no problem. I plan on keeping mine for a long time.

Depends on how much you want to spend and what you feel is most important to get done. Keep an eye out for maintenance specials, and/or coupons from service facilities in your area.

spark plugs, wires and pcv valve, should be all you really need to do and if it is an automatic, filter and fluid change.
