I had a Yakima Q-towers rack before on my car.

Good quality and fitment was pretty much factory-like.

Can't really go wrong with either Thule or Yakima as they are both big names with good reputations.

I really haven't done much research, but easily I've found much more accessories for yakima racks, although I'm sure thule offers them also. I have yakima q towers with a basket and I am very satisfied with it. I use the basket to carry guitar eqipment, great quality.

if you go to the yakima or thule website, they tell you the whole recommended setup, so they'll tell you which size bars and fairing to get. Then you can judge for yourself from there.

Mine was 38".

As for the clips to get, your local Yakima dealer should have a spec sheet listing all the applications compatible with the Corolla.

well after visitng the site...i am going to get the q towers (8000124) but the bar they said is to be the number 8000408.
but i was jus wondering, so if i get a differ yakima bar that part number is different, would it still fit on the q towers that i mention (0124)

Also if u buy those towerd w/o the locks, u can buy any locks to fit it in or is there a matching number ?

I got my Q-Towers and bars out of E-bay... make sure you get the roof pads as well. Huge savings.

I also bought a Coleman/Yakima safari rack back when the Coleman racks could be bought from Costco for 1/3 of the price.

As for the locks. I got mine at a rack/kayak/camping place. You can buy them off the rack, they are all standard, just plug in.

wow that sounds really nice....has anybody tried intstalling yakima roof bars and trying to customize a thule fairng to fit the bars or installing thule bars and trying to custom fit the yakima fairng onto the bars??
Any attempt at this??
I asked because for me...i like the yakima rounds bars and not the thule flat rectangle bars but i like the thule fairing better than the yakima fairing.
