Rough Idle Question

OK, new plugs and wires installed and new VC gasket and my CEL is gone, no more missing. I still have this rough idle that has been there since I got the car. It's not a huge issue, but annoying. It idles worse when the car is in gear, like stopping at a light than when it is in park. I got no codes pending. Any thoughts? IAC? Clean the MAF or throttle body??

What year is the car?

Was a compression test done?

Try water sprayed around the injectors.

98 model.

No compression test done. It's a TBI injection.

Check for vacuum leaks as well - especially around the intake manifold to the head - idle the engine, and spray the area lightly with ether or brake clean - just be carefull, and don't use so much that it will end up in the intake piping. If you have a vacuum leak it will immediatly smooth out for a second after you spray.

I'll do that when I get a chance. I've done it before with propane on the ford explorer I used to have, works really well. I'm starting to wonder if I have a broken/loose motor mount. The vibration is almost gone in park.

Yup, an unlit torch is probably the best way actually, and good idea on the motor mount as well.
