Angry Why are we treated like the redheaded step-kid

I'm just venting my frustrations: WHY have projector headlights been discontinued for the 98-01 Rollas? I have found on an old thread that someone back in Feb was tryin to sell his projectors and body kit. Where the hell did he get em? I'm sry, but shit if I have to retrofit, I guess thats the only route I can go...

The only projectors I recall seeing available were only for 1998-2000.

2001 & 2002 cars had different style headlights.

I wouldn't necessarily view it as a downside since all the projector headlights that were sold were poorly built anyway. Susceptible to moisture and condensation were the main problems IIRC.

Performing an OEM projector retrofit is definitely the better way of doing it. While it may seem like a lot of effort at first, the learning experience you gain along the way will definitely make you appreciate the end result a lot more. Besides, if done properly, the light output and cutoff will be way better than any normal aftermarket projector headlight.

You are most def right. I found a website that provides just about everything you would need to do a HID retrofit. I also found "How to build HID projector lights" on youtube. It's a 4 part DIY. As soon as I find the perfect fit projector for the 8th gen, I'll post it. As I watched the vids, I realized its more "attention to detail". If you lack patience, you'll fuck something up.

Also, I have been trying to find a good aftermarket header. I've read that the OBX Ebay ones crack at the weld and others have fitment probs. I have no idea where to even begin to port the stock headers. What do you suggest? Take it to a machine shop and let them do it?

Some recommendations for good quality OEM projectors, all offer great light output:

You'll have to double check the dimensions for fitment however since I don't own an 8th gen.

-Acura TSX - sharp cutoff
-Honda S2000 (AP2) - sharp cutoff
-Lexus LS430 - super wide beam + good cutoff + huge light output
-Infiniti Q45 - Very cool Gatling gun design + good light output

I haven't heard of many aftermarket options for headers either, hopefully someone with more experience with building the 1ZZ can chime in.
