my boosted Corolla

I have A 1999 corolla its my daily driver and its boosted i love driving it cause here in fl there are alot and by alot i mean alot of civic and i get such a joy by seeing there face when i drive by any ways its semi built enough to handle 15lbs safely i bought last year and decided it was extremely slow so i did what any other person would do the usual intakes and headers exhaust etc but still not enough had it tuned and made 137whp and it still wasnt enough so i boosted it....

mild engine work pistons and rods and cams ported intake and all new gaskets and bearings . Currently runing a BIG T3T4 Turbo and i was told that the little engine could barley spool it up but i see full boost by 3500k but moving on the last time i dynoed it a base run of 159whp on a smaller turbo 4lbs then turned up the boost to 9lbs and made 193whp now im running a bigger turbo and make that on 6lbs i havnt dynoed on 15lbs but will soon so keep a look out....

very nice. i would like some details on your setup. what form of fuel management are you running? turbo specs? a t3t4 is not a very big turbo IMO, infact i think its about the right size for the 1zz.

also, welcome.

sounds like a decent setup. if you ever get a chance i wouldnt mind some engine bay shots (as aforementioned) and possibly some videos of it in action.

Might as well throw on the short runner plastic intake manifold and larger throttle body from the celica gt. Should see quite a bit of power difference (I know I did N/A) boosted.

plastic IM is a bit fragile when boosted or sprayed. a bigger throttle body on the aluminum one should suffice.

the plastic one wouldn't hold under boost? or make a spacer and use the 2zz IM/tb. btw is this car automatic? 2 cables running to the throttle plate?

people have run the plastic intake manifold under boost before. the problem is the seams like to separate. but it doesn't happen to everyone. it seems to be kind of hit or miss.
