Hi everyone, I bought a corolla 2001 about 3 months ago and im slowly making it look nice. Up to now i added myself roadboy fog lights, I tinted the windows and the reverse light, changed the stick shift and the hand break, i have a pionner touch screen and some golden beige pedals that match my interior...
My next step was the rims and dropping the car. I hesitated on this part for many reasons and this is where i'd like some advice from your part. I was thinking of putting 17" rims 45/ 205...it should fit i did a few calculations but im still not sure about how much it affects my rpms...anyways let me know if im thinking right about this...
2nd should I buy springs to lower the car or go with coils...what looks better? Just dropping the car..or i buy coils and then a body kit so i can adjust...i've seen a lot of corollas with lips and different bodykits but i havent seen one that is only droped with stock body...I have a feeling it would look pretty nice...
So plz everyone your opinion would be greatly appreciated. thankk u

> To check the rotational difference you can use the tyre size calculator:
It will help you even with mileage corrections. Make sure your tyre size option falls within 3% of the stock tyre diameter.
> Regarding the springs vs coilovers, it really depends on your preference. Coilovers would really give you the ultimate slammed look but the ride quality goes down since they are usually on the higher end of stiffness and are designed for racing purposes. With proper spring and shock choice, you can be able to enjoy the lowered look without compromising much of the ride quality.

for the hp these cars make i wouldnt go past 15 inch. i would consider doing 17's but they'd have to be lightweight.
Hell I'd go lightweight and still stay with 15 or 14.

17s, way to big and heavy. Like everyone here is sayin, dont go bigger than 15-16. As far as what to do with your suspension, go with fully adjustable coilovers. I have coilover sleeves, the cheapo ones off ebay, and they feel just fine. Not as stiff as I want, but till I can get the money for the real thing... I digress. Don't go with just lowering springs unless you know what youre getting and will match your wheels to your fenders w/out too much or too LITTLE gap.
thankks peoplee I appreciaate! U helped me decidee!..ill skip the idea of bodykit and ill definitly go with coils! and i just found some ADR vision rims black with a nice chrome lip on the inside and outside..15"...I seriously didn't think much much about the weight of the wheel..which i realise is importaaant...Ill upload some pictures soon enough to show u the "before and after". Thanks again!
