Where is the O2 sensor connector?

I'm trying to remove the downstream O2 sensor. I've removed the front passenger seat, but no connector! Where is it? Please advise.

If I'm not mistaken, it should be there under the carpet, or ontop of the carpet, but since you said you removed the seat and you dont see it, then what I would do is cut the wire under the car and splice the new one in. The wires of the new one should match up to the wires leading into the cabin. Hope this helps.

Joe, just updated the pictures in this link here:

My O2 replacement post

No need to cut the wires, just pull from below the console and the connector will come out

If I remember correctly you have to dig around under the foward part of the console after pulling up the carpet. There is a plastic vent tube under the seat that you will have to partially unbolt because you will be unable to move it enough otherwise to get the sensor completely free. Kind of an asshole-ish move on toyotas part to design it like that. It took me about an hour from when i first brought the jackstands up til i had it all put back together again.

i was going to get a universal 4 wired one, would the 02 sensors in the 2 different spots in our corolla use the same sensor?

Yes, you can see the back half of it in this picture:

Infront of the airbag harness, there is an L-shaped duct you need to pop off. No bolts, just a slide fit, but it is a MOTHER EFFER to get back in to place.

As for the Rawdop3's question, universal 4 wire type sensors may work, however the mounting plate for the front sensor is different than the rear. I can say from my experiences that it is best to go with Bosch sensors, preferably OEM style. I went with a cheap no-name OEM connector unit and it failed in 6 months.
