Change strut mounts or sway bar links?

I have a 01 corolla with 152000 miles in it and I just changed all four struts. Now, everytime I go on bumps, Im hearing clunking noises. My mechanic told me that I have to change my front strut mounts and my rear strut mounts. Another mechanic told me, it could be the front sway bar links. I checked the front sway bar links to see if its loose but there not. However, I do see lots of rust. Any suggestions? I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.

do the links and bar bushings first since they're easier and at that many miles i guarantee worn out of they're original. front and rear!

the noise started when you swapped struts or was there before? check balljoints and tierods as well. ball joints and tierods will seem tight with the wheels on the ground, same for the sway bar links and bushings.

agreed. I would do the same, especially if on a budget.

the sway bar bushings are probably also worn, reach under and the bar should be totally solid to the car. if not, replace the bushings. they're cheap and easy.

I had the same noise but even after I changed my struts and strut mounts the noise was still there. So I installed new sway bar links and bushings and the noise went away and suspension became so quiet and comfortable. I don't hear that annoying noise when going over bumps anymore.
