1999 Corolla - Intermittent vibration in frontend/brake/wheel

I have a 1999 Corolla; auto trans, 175Kmi.

Starting off driving it's all normal and smooth for about 4-5 minutes then i get a vibration starting in the front end. When coasting at slow speeds it feels as if the car is lurching and when I press the brakes it magnifies the effect and is like the brakes are pulsating. The steering wheel shakes, it feels like the car is hopping and the brake pedal vibrates (when pressed). If I put the car in neutral it has no effect on the symptoms. It goes away after about another 4-5 minutes.

When I get on the interstate it will come back after about a mile and sound like a flat spot on a cold tire and then it goes away after about 2-3 miles.

If it was a warped rotor I would think the vibration would occur more consistently as would a tire issue. I have had warped rotors before and this is more severe.

Any ideas??

Sounds like a warped rotor along with sticking caliper slides.

I think I have the same problem. However, I don't understand what caliper slides mean. Is it the same as caliper housing bolts?
