Plastic Engine Cover

Has anybody had to remove their plastic cover on the engine. I was experiencing rattles and a knocking sound that seemed to be coming from the front end, after checking found out it was the cover, half the clips that hold it on had broken.

I removed it this afternoon and the car is a lot quieter. I noticed the 98 and the 99 dont even have the cover.

I have taken if off once and the three of the four bolts that hold it in place came out lol. I just found bolts that would fit a 10mm and were short and used some blue loctite to keep that from happening.

well its kind of like putting on a pair of ear ring looks good but does not affect anything if you take them off

my cover is just being hold on by the two front bolts...as for the rear i broke it off, but it still doesn't rattle with two bolts holding it.

My plastic clips broke too. I just replaced them with new ones from the dealer since they were only a couple bucks. The original engine cover rattled but the dealer replaced it under warranty and all is well.
