overdrive question
lets say you are in an automatic corolla...
running at around 120km/h cruising speed...
then you want to overtake the vehicle in front of you and need the extra power...

what will happen if you press the O/D button to turn it off...

will it work the same as downshifting for increased power, even if you are already doing 120km/h, or will it mess up your auto tranny?

the vehicle will downshift tothe next lower gear. and no it won't screw up your tranny. just like when you depress the accelerator to force the tranny to kick down to give you passing power.

it will downshift a gear, since OD is electrical, it is like flipping a switch to off
