Ecu

I was wondering if you were to change the oem corolla ecu to the oem celica gt 00 01 02 ecu that there would be some kind of gains. If so were the years of the celica i mentioned correct but what about the celica gts...im guessing their ecu wont work?

I have read and searched somewhere but seem to lost the useful info i have read before so i wanted to ask again...something about the plugs of the celica ecu is differ from the corolla ecu...so what will i have to do then.

celica gt's are 1zzfe's. the celica gts's are 2zzge. the ecu could be tricked to work, but it would have a fit when it came time for lift to engage. the best option is the celica gt ecu. just have to swap ecu plug ends. once that is done it opens up the possibility for a power fc later on down the road. hehehe.

so if my car is manual then i get a manual celica ecu and if its auto then i get an auto celica ecu correct??Somehow i have looked on ebay and there are plenty but then there's a few couple that looks weird and differ.

Besides if the intake manifold and TB is from a 01 celica...is it okay if i get a 00 celica ecu or a 02 ecu?as long as it is identical right?

yes manual for manual and auto for auto. the 00-02 gt ecus are all drive by cable and to my knowledge interchange with each other, of course auto for auto and manual for manual. i think the 03-05 are drive by wire, so if someone got that by mistake i could see how the car would be slower and have problems. its looking for a servo motor that isnt there. and in the servo motor is the tps iirc.
