Corolla 98 AC problem!! please Help?

Hello
I have a Corolla 1998
When i turn on the Air condition the AC Lamp start normally for 6 seconds nearly then start flashing and no cold air because the compressor not working.

Could any one help what is that problem from?

The most likely reason the compressor is not cycling is that refrigerant has escaped from the system resulting in a system pressure that is low enough so that the low pressure switch is preventing (protecting) the compressor from cycling. With that said, you need to get a set of gages and see if the pressure is around 90 to 110 psi on both the high and low side with the compressor not cycling and at an ambient temperature of around 80 degrees F. If the ambient temperature is hotter, the pressure will be higher and if the ambient temperature is lower, the pressure will be lower. Check the pressure, or have someone with a set of gages check it, and report back.

Check your A/C compressor relay. A very common isuue for Toyota vehicles. My coworker had a 99 rolla and a new relay fixed his problem. Hope this helps.
