My daily commute is only 30 miles each way. This was a road trip from Boston to CT and back. Anything 40+ is insane. I've averaged 32-33 for a while now, longer trips = better mileage obviously with the highway cruising. My CEL is on too, but I think it's just the P0420 code again for using my Magnaflow cat. Or it's the faulty emissions computer. Don't care, car runs great.

Sadly probably going to sell next spring in favor of a 2004 WRX my friend will be selling. Need a lil more oomph for DDing.

And Roach, something is DEFINITELY wrong with your car. Very, very wrong.

i dont think 40+ is insane in these cars. i got 46mpg in not ideal conditions. had it been cooler and a bit later in that day i'd could have gotten closer to if not had 50mpg easily.

I'm curious what you were doing to achieve that? Were you "hypermiling"?

Regular driving, I can't fathom how that would be possible in a Corolla. Unless you drove like Grandma everywhere, in which case, for me, it's not worth it.

We'll see, that's the plan anyway. Having a hard time finding steady work right now though, so it's all up in the air. Bouncing around from engineering contract to contract, damn you economy!!!

I'd keep it mostly stock, for reliability and street worthiness. I'll definitely upgrade brakes, and probably an intake exhaust combo. Then I'll stop, because any more mod money dumped in to that would be better utilized on my really fast car :-)

There is def something wrong with your car. I get around 20mpg in my Impreza.
