the best thing to do i go back to the firestone with the full vehicle inspection (both of them) and ask to speak to the manager to c what hes willing to do, if he does nothing go to the corporate office (they will usually do some type of reimbursement (wont be full tho))..at 900 miles...it should have happen...the tech guy was being lazy n didnt do a complete inspection

Thanks for your reply. Can you make this point clearer- Do you think these problem can happen within 900 miles? I am not great with cars. Thats the reason I am asking again.

I did go and spoke with firestone manager. Their reply was this- "1. Both reports were done by different mechanics. So the reports can vary a lot.

2. These things can happen any time. We are not responsible for whatever happened to you"

I made my points clear and told them I will take this problem to next level and will talk with firestone district manager. I tried to reach district manager but he was not available. I will talk to him after labor day.

Thanks once again.
It should have said "shouldnt have happened" sorry about that...of course the reports can vary but it should vary by much as its a pretty set standard....the manager just doesnt want to take responsibility....break pad life can range from a life of 20k miles-40k miles so there is no way that in 900 miles u can use 60% brake life (going off of memory 25% wear to 85% wear)...as for the lowering control arm, if the car is lifted in the air, a mechanic should b able to tell that its pretty work out...i would continue going up the corporate ladder until u r completely satisfied...and if u dont noe much about cars, ur better off finding a small mechanic (check their reviews on yelp.com) and talk to ur friends and neighbors for referrals as chain places tend to rip people off more often...let me noe if u would like me to elaborate on anything else ...btw welcome to toyotanation

But the second report gave rating 7 to both tires in the front and in rear left. Rear right rating is 6 and the worst part is they all have cupping and cracks (none of these cupping or crack were mentioned in first report). I hear lot of rattling noise from the tires now.

Thanks again

Tires are kinda harder as they vary depending on driving conditions, brand, make, the rating and all...http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=35 that link should give u some info....the front tires tend to wear more than the rear....but thats if its been rotated possibly...tires are recommended to be changed every 10 years at the max....this video should give u info on that
other than that, i cant really say much about the tires without knowing the age of them...http://www.ehow.com/how_5591124_tell...were-made.html that link well explain how to c when they were made....btw theres a nice thank future on the form (bottom right of each post) ..if u give me that info...i might be able to give u some more info about ur tires
