Dome light fuse blowing?

I have a 02 toyota corolla. I replaced the dome light fuse and as soon as i do it blows. I believe there is a short somewhere but i don't even know where i should look. Anyone have any ideas? I have a amp and subwoofer but the ground looks good on it.

What else is on the dome light fuse( what else is drawing current on that circuit)?

You either have a short or your pulling to much current from the loads on the circuit/fuse.

Disconnect one load at a time when the fuse stops blowing you found your problem.
If that does not work and all loads are disconnected and the fuse is still blowing then you have a short in the wiring someplace.

You mentioned an amp and subwoofer if those were added to the circuit you are almost certainly overloading it. You can find out your current draw by either using a amp meter on the circuit or using ohms law.

What ever you do do not put a larger fuse in. The fuse is to protect the wiring not the load( light, speaker, amp).

I've had the set up for the past 4 years. I have had no problems at all. I was just driving and the radio and all interior lights shut off.

I know the trunk light, dome, all interior lights and radio go off that fuse. I wouldn't even know where to start to look for a short.

You have to isolate the short, start disconnecting all the loads on the circuit one at a time. If you have run that set up for a while, then one load has a short or the wiring has one.

Pick the area you think the problem might be in (Radio, Amp,lights wherever) , you have to start someplace. Then disconnect the wires or pull a bulb, whatever it takes to take that load out of the circuit. Only do one thing at a time until the fuse stops blowing. I would start with what draws the most current first and what ever mods were done to the car.
